Dr. Julia Danckwerth

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Art and Design

The fashiondesigner and researcher Julia Danckwerth examines to develop and design Wearable Enhancement in the field of smart health in social and ethical ways.

Since 2019 she has been working as a researcher in the research project “TheraTex” and develops and designs smart textile to support the therapy for people with hemiplegia. She works transdisciplinary, involve heterogeneous interest groups and combine the Human-Centered Design approach with an technology-driven design.

She hold an diploma in fashiondesign from weißensee kunsthochschule berlin, since 2020 she is Ph.D. in Design of the Bauhaus-University Weimar. Her practice-led design-research was honored with “Wearable IT & Fashion Technology Award 2015“, „Creative Technology Award 2015“ from Senate Department for the Economy, Technology and Women Berlin, “Digitale Innovation 2017“ from Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), smart3 – Award „Zeit zu zeigen“ category health from smart3 e. V. and „SENovation Award 2018“.
