Veronika Aumann

Textile designer Veronika Aumann explores the relationship between materiality and digitality in her work. Her research and teaching focuses on active materials and tangible Human-Machine Interactions.

 At the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin she is currently working on the practice-based research project „Digital Materials“ as part of the BCP’s „DiGiTal“ programme to promote excellent scientists and artists. Since January 2019 she is PhD candidate at the artistic PhD program PhDArts at ACPA Leiden and KABK The Hague, NL.

Previously, she worked in collaboration with the Fraunhofer IZM on textile screens, as part of the smart3 consortium with shape-changing materials and at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence on responsive textiles.

 Veronika Aumann studied textile design at the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin and at Chelsea College of Art London.
